@naturalhaitian,I think the red would look nice, seeing as you have a lippy on that almost mathes that color and it looks pretty one you!

Love this thread. Looove all the purple hair! For those who have colored - Did you bleach or lighten prior to applying color? Do you think it's necessary to bleach before? (I'm trying to get away with a deep red, without bleaching)

Love this thread, this is my hair from a few years ago when I was a red head...My hair was bleached blonde and then I put red rinses over it and achieved different shades of red... (sorry the pics are so large)

(I'm trying to get away with a deep red, without bleaching) | Its easier to dye your hair darker than it is to lighten it so I highly doubt you will have to bleach it. You can either go the box route, I couldn't recommend a type as there are various kinds or you can professionally get it done. Depending on the colour you are now depends on how vibrant the red will turn out :)

if you are looking for a deep red you shouldn't need to bleach beforehand. There are a few red shades that deposit a gorgeous red on natural dark brown hair, like Vampire Red from Manic Panic is one I used when I didn't bleach. It added a nice deep bright red hue to my hair. I bleach when I want something bright and vibrant.

I remember when I dyed my hair platinum blonde a couple years ago. I would say that you will need to be on top of your moisture game. I was co-washing and deep conditioning one or twice a week and keeping up with protein treatments. I would never go that light again because keeping up with the maintenance was time consuming but I loved the look.
