I have done this, my curls too were very dry and tight and looked like a little dry prune. What I did was use elsta qp creme relaxer its not natural but very mild. i put it on my hair for HALF the time... And it gave my hair what it needed, now my curls are more manageable... I also co wash with Aussie Moist, I love that stuff....
