My question still hasn't been answered..... Obviously the technical definition is no chemical what so ever but obviously the natural hair movement doesn't just encompass those who don't dye but those who do as well ......So what do you call a person who dyes their hair but obviously still retains texture.... And colored natural isnt an answer because according to y'all it's an oxymoron

I just can't imagine someone telling me I'm not natural... But I've stopped letting others classify me anyway

Just in case some of us wasnt there when this started it was about freedom from relaxers and a Eurocentric beauty definition .....and people who were and are the forefront of the movement are dyed naturals

I honestly thought that purpose of the "natural Hair" movement was to promote "our" texture and beauty but obviously I was wrong.....I'm probably gonna dye my hair 100 more times before I die...and if I don't relax again, i'm gonna claim natural til I die

I understand the damage aspect but i hate how it has black woman soo scared to stray from the norm.

If you dye you're not natural but if you wear wigs and weavea to switch it up you're not proud.

To many rules

As far as damage goes I think you have to know your hair and how it works....everytime I've been to the hair dresser they've damaged my hair, I only dye certain parts of my hair because I know some of my textures can't handle it

@KinksnWinks To answer hour question I would define a "colored natural" to be "napptural" because their hair color is far from natural.

I really do not see the point if his thread because it is not encouraging people and their hair journey. This is why I do not want to apart of this "natural hair community " because it is far from a community. Who cares want whether You are natural or not just do want makes you happy. If coloring ur hair makes you happy do it if relaxing your hair makes you happy, do that. It's just that simple to me.

I think everyone should be happy that they have hair not matter what state it is.

No relaxer/texlax = natural. Some of y'all need to
stop trying to conform everything to your own personal
definition and opinions.

I didn't know adults weren't allowed to have a civilized conversation about something you happen to be insecure about. You do you. It ain't no skin off my back or should I say hair off my head. But don't think you bout to dictate what I can talk about.

I'm glad I strayed from the "natural community" online unity my a$$, there's always some kind of drama so much time wasted that could have been spent helping each other. And if your texlaxed what's the point of going so hard defining what "Real" "Natural" hair is
