    Posted: Nov 03 2006 at 12:05pm

I am going to the salon tomorrow to get a touch-up, I have a lot of new growth. I just spoke to my stylist and she told me that she used Motions no-lye relaxer on my in the past (dang, I wasn't happy to hear that Ermm). Motions didn't break my hair but in my resistant areas, I was left with waves at the roots or the waves will show up again after two weeks. I told her I want to change relaxers to a lye that will get my hair straight all the way (not bone straight) with no waves at the roots.  She said that she has something called Nairobi and that is suppose to be good like Affirm.

Has anyone used the Nairobi Lye Relaxer? If so, regular, plus or sensitive scalp formula? What were your results?

Please let me know a.s.a.p. because I am going to her tomorrow, thanks ladies.

Alright ladies, I'm getting ready to go to the salon. I read up about this relaxer and it seems to be good. It is a lye relaxer and even though I have been using no lye relaxers for years I'm ready to make the switch.  I will leave a follow-up later and let you ladies know if this relaxer is a hit or miss (I hope it's a hit,  I don't need any new hair drama Unhappy).

UPDATE:

So got the touch-up, went fine so far. My hair feels straight, smooth and soft (I had a lot of new growth). This might be another lye relaxer to add to the list ladies but if I encounter and problems like breakage in the next few weeks/months I will let you know. I tried the mild formula (which I think is the sensitive skin formula).

Ladyash - That is good that you had good results as well. I did scratch my head quite of bit this week but it really didn't burn so I got lucky.  Don't worry that it is a lye relaxer, you said you didn't know and I guess your hair didn't know either so that is a good thing Big%20smile.  I switched from a No Lye (used for all of my relaxed life) to this one and so far my hair is fine. Lye is better on your hair and I got the sensitive formula so this brand seemed to be pretty gentle on my scalp. I do feel that this Lye relaxer made my hair softer than the No Lye relaxers I have used.

Miagurljan - Girl, I'm sticking to this one so far Clap
