Maybe you can ween yourself. I know that sounds crazy...but because you have been wearing them for so long, it is hard. Whenever I came out of my full installs...I wore my hair in a bob...(my natural hair is neck length) but I added 3 tracks thru out for thickness and eventually got use to that......and slowly by surely I wore my natural hair. Im to the point now...that I prefer my natural hair over my installs.....

I ventured off into the hair growth section and picked up some tips on how to manage and take care of my own hair.

You are beautiful with and without the weave.....just try it.

I totally feel ya. I am constantly getting pressured by my family who think I am wasting money.

I wanted to buy some indian hair and my ma blew up on me.She said all that money I spend on hair...I could spend on more important things. She does have a point......

My s/o hates weaves as well ! He just told me I'm not going to be satisfied until I get nits !! From buying virgin hair and this fake shyt is breaking his face out !!

Now your going way 2 far buddy !! He also told me I never wore weaves this much before. Now mind you he is my high school sweetheart and we got back together 3 years ago so I'm going on 30 so that means he if making his comments based on 10 years ago so go figure.

Do what makes you feel best. If you did the big chop and your uncomfortable with short hair let him at least read what the big chop is and why you are using a protective style to allow your hair to grow. Men don't understand all of this.

I try to school mine about the convenience of it all and he looks at me sideways.

Now I just had my natural hair out for one whole month and I asked him about my hair growth because I got my hair all cut off last year and he says " how am I suppose to know when you always got someone elses stuff in your head" meanwhile I'm sitting here weaveless when I asked him about my growth !!

You can't win or lose ! Lol

Do what makes you comfy !

DO IT FOR YOU, NOT ANYONE ELSE. If you don't feel comfortable with sporting a natural style, then it's not time. Don't force it, let it come naturally. Or, you will resent the process.

Good luck on your journey...

Hi! I'm new and all. Everyone's advice is very practical and it all makes sense. Just a suggestion about the long hair/ short hair pickle.

If you decide to take it out just tell him you had to cut a whole bunch off because of damage. That way it doesn't look like you were lying to him. Hth.
