I'm not being politically correct either...I'm not living in the hood again(oakland -_-) or any semblance of a hood and I criticize a lot of ratchet things...I'm just saying it's really not all stereotypical.

Correct, and section 8 automatically disqualifies registered sex offenders (including additional tenants) and anyone caught cooking meth in any form of public housing... sooo, that's a plus.

I don't think anyone is exaggerating but there's another side to it.  A lot of ppl on it are single working mothers.  Some people are just ratchets happy to have money for plasma tv's instead of forking over rent and let their convict boyfriends secretly live there.

section 8 needs to be revamped where able bodied people are only permitted to depend on the resource for a designated time. otherwise it becomes a crutch and many people don't see any incentive do better. imo.

Jam,

section 8 is a program for poverty/low income. You could be unemployed or the working poor.

low income will always be associated with crime, bad behavior and laziness. Warranted or not.

funny you made the distinction between working mothers and plain ratcheds.

my sis was on section 8 for over 10 years. had it made. was working the whole time but she ended up losing it because my bad ass niece and nephews damaged several of the properties. now she's living in a studio paying full rent, still working and finally decided to go back to school so she can do better.

this happens period. I don't feel like the black women not on these programs live any better by numbers IMO. Section 8 is an easy label.
