when people on section 8 are concentrated to one area, 9/10 sh*t pops off on a regular basis. i'd prefer to live in a house or a mixed income dwelling.

theres probably some section 8 housing you would avoid if you could help it. some arent bad, but if shes paying rent its her choice

Exactly @ noneyons if it's all section 8 there will be some issues(the owners and tenants alike) but when I was apt hunting I saw some pretty nice townhomes and other types of independently owned apts that accepted it.  But that's where checking things out for yourself come in.

wonder you are right, it sounds messed up

homeowners don't like when renters move into their neighborhood.....people generalize and unfairly judge people

do you think the section8 stereotypes are without merit?

Are any stereotypes without merit?  I've seen examples of every stereotype I've ever heard.  It doesn't stop us from looking beyond that when it stands to affect us.

Why not just call them? I havent read the whole thread so maybe you answered.

But my other advice is to see if it's listed on  gosection8.com , which is a site that assists people who have a section 8 voucher to find apartments/homes that are willing to accept it

I'm sure not all are listed though, so I suggest to call and ask .
