Pearland area is a suburb and about 20 minutes from medical center. They have affordable priced housing in that area. Try area code 77057 when searching for housing.
Southwest area is very affordable, but it is 30-45 min from medical center. Traffic is horrendous going from southwest to medical center during rush hour though. |
Alla this. If you're considering a suburb, the only one I would even think about while working in the medical center is Pearland. They have some really nice apartments; but theyre not cheap either though. My location is perfect for someone working in the medical center, but ummm.. it's been discussed negatively in this thread Stay in the inner loop if possible. I would definitely try to find something in the medical center area, or off of 610 or 288 (unless you're used to or not bothered by traffic). There are a lot of places here where traffic isnt a huge deal... but yeah traveling away from downtown or medical center towards a suburb probably won't be fun

oh yeah with those hours you should definitely be fine (probably ANYWHERE in Houston? maybe someone else knows better than me though.. I'm usually headed the opposite way of traffic. #blessed)
I go to Pearland to shop and havent had a problem going there around 7P.. idk about 7A, but I would think it should be clear

why you tryna get this po' girl robbed? ....i dont fvcks with apartments along 288/loop I'm a Sugarland commuter to the med center....15mins on Hwy90A. But I think if you are new to the city then inner loop/Midtown is a good place to start a life. There's too much to do. Dang i miss the Midtown single life, Wednesday nights at Sambuca Jazz... Fridays at Skybar or in the Village...Crescent City Beignets....damn i might need to rethink this long term relationship/suburban life

Whatever! you talkin about like 288 and w.airport? My friend stayed in some cute apts out there. Only got robbed once. And if you're talking about where 288 and 610 literally cross..stop hatin. That's an optimal place to be But Belle, dont listen to this girl.. from Medical Center to Sugarland is 45mins +
