Hi,

Not for anything but in my opinion the best set comes from H2O.  It is soft and bouncy and always shinny.  Setting lotion makes hair in my opinion look like it was done down south and won't move if the wind blows.  But, if you are looking for a long hold I guess the setting lotion is the best.

However, I would go with the H2O any day.  Give it a try just make sure you let the hair dry all the way before removing the rollers or rods.  You can always use a perm designed for the lighter pigmented group (white folk) and that will last a life-time.

I don't know about white folks perm, but, a cold rinse conditioner like Hair So New makes a terrific light and bouncy set.  Before I started using all this "stuff", my Mom used it on my ponytail set and it was terric.

I think witht the introduction of  relaxing perm chemical services, we used very basic stuff.
