But wait.... Doesn't she hear other people call her mom? I mean eventually she will understand that her mommy is also "Sandra". Or whatever her actual name is.

Not gon be a mystery too long.

something is wrong if a 3-4 yr old child can't put those two things together.

As soon as they are able to learn my name. My son calls me mommy at home but calls me by my real name at my parents house. It does not bother me. If he thought it was bothering me he would always call me by my first name. He often calls his dad by his first name. Probably because I call my husbands name a thousand times a day. I'm annoying like that.

my kids are young but they know my name, where they live, where there grammy lives...i drill them cause if anything happens..ex: if i get sick what will they do? they know how to call 911 lol. thats more info than what the op asked for but you wouldnt believe how dumb the kids are here. 13 year olds cant even tell the school bus drivers where they live(seriously they dont know).probably dont know their moms real name. ErmmSleepy

She has only slipped up twice since then lol!

I've heard of the scenario though but I think it's crazy for your kids not to know your name. I do agree with not letting kids call their parents by their first names .
Or any adult
