Quick, simple and easy. Put 1 teaspoon of honey into 4 cups of warm water. After shampooing and conditioning (if you want to), and lightly patting dry, pour the honey mixture over your hair or put it into a spray bottle and spray all through your hair. Don't rinse out. Style as usual.
Honey Pre-wash Treatment
Before a shampoo, use this special treatment to condition the scalp and repair damaged hair. Use regularly if your hair is dry or ends are split.
Ingredients
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 teaspoons honey
5 drops rosemary, lavender or geranium essential oil
You will also need:
a small cup
a ceramic or glass bowl
a small stainless steel spoon
a plastic shower cap
and a comfortably hot towel
Method
1. In a cup sitting in hot water, warm the olive oil and the honey ( or you can use the microwave for heating - be careful) Stir in your choice of essential oil and mix well.
2. While the mixture is still warm, apply it all over your hair, massaging well into the scalp. Cover your hair with the shower cap (or large plastic bag) wrap the towel around your head and leave on for 10-15 minutes. For severely damaged hair, leave on up to 30 minutes.
3. Remove the towel and shower cap, and wash your hair with a mild shampoo or baby shampoo.
Makes enough for one application
Honey & Apricot Oil Hair Treatment
This treatment helps reduce the dry frizzies and helps the hair maintain moisture.
Ingredients
2 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon apricot oil
Method
Wash your hair as normal.
Mix honey and oil together and apply to freshly washed hair.
Leave it on for about 15 minutes with a towel wrapped around your head, or a plastic wrap for deeper conditioning.
Rinse off and style as usual.
Olive & Jojoba Hot Oil Treatment
I use this treatment once every two weeks as a very rich conditioning treatment. You can do it every week if you want even more conditioning and you can afford the jojoba oil. It's expensive unless you buy in bulk. Try www.fromnaturewithlove.com for somewhere to buy it in bulk. You can use olive oil from the supermarket. I use regular olive oil, not extra virgin. EV has too much of a smell compared to the regular cold pressed olive oil. You can always add your choice of EO to mask the smell if you want.
Ingredients:
Mix at room temperature
30ml olive oil
Essential Oils:
15ml jojoba oil
5ml sweet almond oil
Method
Place all ingredients in a plastic bowl and place into a larger bowl of very hot water. Test the oil mixture with your finger, when it is quite warm but not hot, apply it generously to your scalp. Pour the remainder directly on your hair. (use on dry to almost dry hair, not wet hair)
Cover your hair with a plastic cap or like I do, wrap some Saran Wrap around your head a few times.
For the next hour, hope no one comes to visit unexpectedly because you need to leave the plastic on your head for at least an hour while the warm oil and your body heat opens the hair cuticle and soaks up the oil.
To rinse out, put shampoo directly on your hair, (don't wet your hair down first) and work into a rich lather. Rinse then continue your routine as normal.
