I just got 2 strand twists done yesterday, and I wanted Havana Twists originally but due to my hair getting dangerously matted (from laziness) and me getting dangerously frustrated to cutting the matts and extra hair that I felt to cut "just because" , I wasnt able to as some sections were too short.

I cut off a lot of hair in many areas unfortunately, setting me back at least a year+ of growth. But, onwards and up (down rather, in terms of hair growth)

I'm curious as to how I will be able to moisturize these 2 strand twists (with my own hair by the way, no extensions)? I know it seems silly to ask, but I don't want to mess these up and I want to baby my hair, I heard her screaming when she was being twisted yesterday. (Of course in my imagination, my hair has a voice, that of Nina Simone telling me to "Stop young patawan") LOLConfused

SO! Anyways, any help? I plan to use Coconut Oil? Maybe Shea butter?

Uh! Help, please ladies/gentleman. I'd appreciate it, and I'd like substantial growth.

^^good suggestion. Along the same line, I would suggest a braid spray. I used to have a luv affair with Hawaiian Silky spray. Smelled good and got the moisture job done!

Yup a good braid spray would be good.

I use a spray bottle with about 80%-90% water + a few squirts of EVOO or grapeseed oil.  I then add orange oil for scent and squirt of condish.  I use it twice per day.

I love it and my lil guy says that I smell like Fruit Loops. LoL

I would also suggest wearing a satin bonnet or satin skull cap around the house to help retain moisture.

My first option to moisturize my hair while using extension braids is S Curl no drip, the hair remains soft and manageable (never had tangling problems, kept the braids for 2-3 months).

The other option is to use a spray bottle with water and some regular conditioner, at the moment I’m using Tresemmé naturals, but Herbal Essences and Suave Vo5 do the job equally well.
