so is there anyone Mirena HAS worked well for? I need a long term, but temporary solution. My OB suggested Mirena but IDK after reading this |
It worked very well for me. I had ZERO side effects, problems, aches etc.... I loved it. It feels like nothing is there. I had it removed & it felt like absolutely NOTHING. I said to my gyn, lemme know when ur done, she said its out already, I was like I thought it was gonna be painful to remove, but it was a piece of cake

I had Mirena for 13 months. I loved that I didn't have a period with it. I didn't have any additional pain or discomfort. My strings were cut too short and it hurt like beast to have it removed (I wanted to have a baby). For me it took equally as long to get pregnant. I would recommend it.

I have it now, I got it in March 2013. In the beginning it was sucky. I didn't bleed for the first 3 weeks after insertion, then I bled for a month and a half straight. Then it stopped for a couple days, then I had my period , regular flow, for 7 full days. My period before my baby was normally just 3 or 4 days, with only 1 reg day and the rest were light. Now, my cycle is starting to regulate itself again. My most recent cycle was just 4 days, each day was regular flow. Maybe next cycle will be less. I plan on keeping this in for at least 2 years.

I've been on Mirena since January 2013. Off birth control, my menstrual used to come monthly, around the same time and last 4 days...very regular/predictable.
However, the beginning with Mirena wasn't good. I had cramps, a migraine once (terrible feeling btw), my menstrual was unpredictable, and it lasted forever and a day.
But, now it is starting to get better, haven't had any more migraines, cramping is improving, and my menstrual is starting to become more predictable and not lasting as long but still longer than I would like. I hope I eventually become menstrual free while on Mirena though.

I got my Mirena around Feb- March 2012, it hurt to get it put in but nothing to bad I haven't gotten a check up since though :O
I got it inserted as early as I could after the birth of my daughter, but when I DID have my period it was pretty regular on Mirena I didn't have a period for almost a year now this year I had it once but I always seem to get the symptoms but no blood like breakouts and irritable
I've had bad cramps in my thigh I think are associated with the Mirena aswell but as birth control altogether no pregnancies thus far

I got in January of 2013. No major complaints, I didn't even have a period until about 8 months after insertion (which I think was because of breastfeeding); only thing is that I actually gained all the weight I lost post baby plus more and cannot lose it.
