I read the book being quoted here a long, long time ago, when I was vegetarian for 20 years straight.
I thought the premise in this book was a stretch then, I think it is a stretch now (I happily eat meat now!) .
And you know what. I want to learn to hunt. There is nothing that proves meat eating HAS to be 'patriarchal'. I think meat eating is, um, pretty human. Factory farming sux but that's another thing...
I think it is in the nature of our digestive system
to eat meat, not in our gender.
The rest of her arguments in that book to support her theory are cultural not inherent.
