when you make your u-part wig, do you always sew a perimeter track on the inside of the cap? What are some benefits of doing a weft inside the cap? Any drawbacks?

thanks

If you sew the u part down & have a weft sewn on the inside of the cap, supposedly you should be able to lift the hair into a ponytail. I haven't tried it myself though. HTH

You don't have too.  It is preferred if you wear your wigs in ponytails (high).  I've done it both ways but I haven't worn my wigs successfully because I didn't sew them down.  Sometimes the swim caps with the thick band may feel a little lumpy but it really depends on your preference.

When I sewed my swim cap down, I would fold the band under so to not cut the elastic off, then sew.

You can still achieve a high ponytail if you leave enough perimeter out.

No, I like the band for security and comfort.  I sew wefts on everything. LOL
