I've been trying to figure out how to get that zigzag afro curl pattern and here it is! And I just bought a ton of these for my little brothers art project. Can't wait to experiment on some stash hair I was ready to get rid of. Does the perm react with the wire or fluff at all?

No the perm does not react with the wire. The perm will react with the color in the pipe cleaner and the color (dye) of the pipe cleaner will run.

Maybe you can use white colored pipe cleaners to avoid the running dye.

I have not worn the hair yet.

I am going make another afropuff weft. Then I am going to ventilate the hair one stand at a time on some (1"x6") superfine Swiss lace (the HD movie lace).

I am trying to make a "natural part"...

I wonder what that would look like flat ironed, using this as another technique to turn silky hair into more of a yaki. A thread that I saw here with a tutorial on it using bantu knots, didnt have great looking results to me Confused

Great idea. I'd love to see it flat ironed.  I've got some silky "yaki" that I need to texturize

The hair was conditioned and blow dried. A small section was flat ironed.
