While I don't get on here much, I needed to make this post - which is a post I hoped I wouldn't ever be put in the position to make. This is my "warning" for those who wish to sell in the M2M section. Buying, Selling and Paypal all go hand in hand but when someone is scheming, scamming and etc. it makes the whole experience unsavory. At this point - the experience I am about to detail has left a bad impression with me and I doubt I will sell on this board again. For the most part, I am fair and consider all offers and people interested in any purchases I have but I am pretty cautious. I think this last sale was ill timed for me cause I wasn't fully prepared for the turn of events.
Last month I posted in the for sale section - I sold a few items directly on the board and a few off the board as people inquired before items could be posted. One item I sold on the board is the very first item linked and photo'ed in the thread: http://forum.blackhairmedia.com/items-for-sale_topic349179.html
The buyer: collegecutie22 purchased both bundles of hair (Malaysian Deep Wave). Throughout my discussions with the buyer both email and pm - she had asked to purchase anything curly (in addition to what she already purchased) or asked if I had a closure to match the wefts purchased. I told her as I did many others - I would look to see what I had and would post them and when nothing surfaced I did inform her. I also notified her before she made payment that I didn't have a closure to match but at her request of something that - if I found it I would let her know...that didn't pan out either. All seemed fine and dandy, she paid her invoice and I mailed the hair off.
Hair once dried and as sent to the buyer:
Additional packing pictures ( I do this for all my sales, these pictures were sent to Paypal and were the reason I got my money back):
The hair packaged not sealed yet:
The hair and bonus samples total package weight 8.9 ounces:
The buyer: collegecutie22 receives the hair emails to let me know she got the hair - she also stated that she would need more hair as the hair was thin (20+ inches of Deep Wave hair at 3.5 ounces in 2 bundles) and that she had a lot of shedding when she washed the hair. In my response to her I combined a few emails and addressed her concerns - shedding - I already stated, IMO the wefts need to be sealed but that was from a simple wash nothing more. Her inquires about more hair - I didn't have anything she could use curly wise - I did have some VS indian hair as she asked about that but that hair cost MORE and was 22 inches of straight hair only two bundles. I advised against that purchase as I knew if she didn't have additional straight hair that would have been a waste of money. Within a few emails later she asks for a refund on her purchase since the two bundles alone wouldn't be enough nor did the texture (deep wave) match her hair...oh and she said it shed a lot.
I informed collegecutie22 I wasn't interested in refunding the hair as I was VERY detailed in my sale ad...I stated all that I could about hair that I had not purchased NOR worn. When she purchased the hair she knew what she was getting, I even included the FORWARN of my suggestion to seal based off the 6 lonely hairs I lost. Now I told her I wouldn't refund her but since it wasn't my hair or money (that money went to my friend) I did let her know I would see if should would refund her. I forwarded her the email and she politely said no since my post was detailed and she knew before purchasing what she was getting.
collegecutie22 had mentioned since she had never sold anything she felt it would be easier with refunding - which she was willing to take a loss since she conditioned the hair. Mind you all the while the communication was not nasty but I knew once I told her no that would change. After I informed her of my friends final decision - she said she couldn't use it since it was still shedding as she was brushing and running her fingers through it. After that I didn't hear from her until AFTER she filed her paypal dispute the very next afternoon.
Mind you, I talked to my friend about the hair - again, it wasn't mine. But these bundles were additional bundles to what she had installed (she just took her install down). Her hair shed very little before she sealed her wefts and very little after - maybe a strand or two here or there but nothing like what collegecutie22 was implying. So I get an email from Paypal about a dispute that I expected to come but I did NOT expect the buyer to completely lie about her purchase:
I was utterly floored and quite upset - it's one thing to go about a dispute the honest way but to lie was completely unacceptable. Following her dispute she decides she wants to email me and let me know know that the hair was now coming out in globs and that the hair was dry and damaged and 4-6 inches would need to be taken off the hair... (it gets better) she took the hair to FedEx had it weighed and it only weighed 4 ounces and not the 7 ounces I sold her which she said made sense....SMH
Here is the supposed shedding:
Since I don't deal with liars, I informed her I wouldn't be dealing with her and would let Paypa handle the situation and promptly blocked her (for the first time in my life I blocked someone) Upset about being lied on and in addition having funds in my account frozen, I responded to the Paypal dispute but I informed Paypal I had additional information that I would submit later that evening. Before I got home...litereally 20 minutes before I got home Paypal had already decided she could return the hair and if received in the condition I had sent it to her she would be entitled to a refund. Really?! I called Paypal and spoke with them and from there I had no choice but to wait it out. She waited about 6 days to mail the hair off...I received the hair literally the day that I was heading out of town. Before I opened the package I took pictures and weighed the package, then I opened the package - took pictures and called Paypal. She sent me a matted, stinky straight bundle and a matted stinky partially wavy partially straight bundle with what appeared to me as elmers glue aligning the wefts. The hair measured about 18/19 inches and weighed about 5.7 ounces - definitely NOT what I sold her nor what she indicated in her dispute to paypal. I laughed all the way to my girls house as I got my affidavit notarized and faxed to Paypal. The next day Paypal decided I would get my money back once I mailed them the hair - which I sent it to them JUST like she sent it to me in her envelope and target bag...all of it.
Here's what she sent me:
Paypal has refunded me and apologized for the situation but I just wanted to warn others. I would have loved to have done this awhile ago, however I have been out of the country and didn't have means to do this until I had confirmation Paypal had the mess she sent me along with them refunding me. I say all of this to say - Please be careful in who you sell to and I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else.
