I hope so though she is a beauty.
I was thinking the same thing, but didn't wanna put out anymore negativity. BUT..... Black women in Hollywood, usually get a one & done type of treatment at the awards.

For instance they get one year, one role, that is critically acclaimed & all the shows are on their jock sweating them. The Golden Globes, Oscars, SAG, Critics Choice etc. Then they aren't acknowledged or recognized or nominated there after.   We have seen this with Halle, Monique, Gabby Sidibe, the ladies of The Help, Angela Bassett, Taraji Henson, Whoopi,J Hud etc..

Some may have lucked out & gotten a 2nd film that was award worthy, most do not.

Why cant blk women get CONTINUOUS ROLES like Helen Miren, Sandra Bullock, Meryl Streep, Katherine Hepburn, etc...

The playing field is NOT even!!

I think Oprah is incredibly proud of her. They had a "moment" at the round table when Lupita said the thing that inspired her to become an actress was watching The Color Purple and seeing people who looked like her on film

Now you kno O was gone after that LOL

Wow Ochocinco shouted out Lupita? He is sexy and I follow him on IG but I never thought he'd give a black girl shine.

Even the black men get nominated multiple yrs. Cuba Gooding Jr, Will Smith, Denzel, Forest Whitaker, Jamie Foxx, etc..

Whoopi was nominated for Ghost & the Color Purple, idk of many others. Nothing comes to mind off the top of my head

I wonder if her spotlight will cause a spike in women going natural and being okay with dark skin and natural black beauty?
