i just used the lottabody setting lotion to rollerset my natural hair for flat ironing. i obviously used too much without realizing later that it needs to be diluted, especially for colored hair. my hair is hard and brittle feeling, i put evoo and the heatguard and flat ironed my hair, but the ends are all rough. did i damage my hair permanently, or if i wash will the hardness wear off? i'm scared! CryCry

The hardness should definitely disappear as soon as you wash your hair.  I think setting lotions work best with rollersetting.

ok that has me feeling better. i should note that the stiffness is throughout my hair and it ironed very poorly.

i meant that i used lottabody for my rollerset and i rollerset to flat iron.

Oh okay.  Next time dilute the lottabody and also re wet the hair with water while rollersetting.  You should look into wire mesh rollers instead of the magnetics bcs it is hard for me to get the tension right on magnetics and you always have to flat iron or blow out the roots if the tension isn't right with magnetics.

All if have to do is wrap my hair after setting with the wire mesh rollers.  My hair is so much healthier and thicker when I use just one form of indirect heat - once a week.
