i think it depends on the hair and the style. i think it's okay to braid a 4 year old hair with extensions, as long as the style is appropriate (say 2 ponytails on each side) as opposed to braids hanging down her back to her butt. gluing or sewing in tracks is inappropriate until teenage years IMO. i like to see little girls looking like little girls, meaning hair and clothing also.

I don't think there is anything wrong with braids on little girls.  However, I would wait until my daughter is around 13 for a weave.

i think braids are fine but I think fake ponytails just look ridiculous on little girls. As well as fake nails and belly shirts.

Thats a little too much. Weave at 4 y/o? As others said, braids are fine but other than that, I wouldn't do anything else to my child's head.

I don't know name of the company, but they do make a selection of phony ponies for little girls.

No weave, no phony pony, no braid/twist extentions.

I think when u weave a child's head  u re sending a dangerous ,misleading message "You need to use a wig cuz your hair is not good enough " this could lead to insecurity and unappreciation of their own beauty  in a future .We should teach our kids to love their hair and be confident with themselves and their own ,unique beauty, once they re old enough to understand that they dont Need a wig or weave to be pretty  if they want to change style then they will be allowed to use em.

I do agree with what you are saying. I think that children are so impressionable...When I was younger I watched my mom deal (really badly) with her weight issues..and even though she didn't directly involve me, I ended up with an eating disorder. I see it when my cousins are over and they are talking about how much "better" me and my sisters hair is..even though its just comments, I ALWAYS correct them.

However, I do think that braids and stuff are OK for little kids..they are always running around and playing and being active..it helps to keep their hair off their face and can be easier to take care of, esp cuz thier hair grows so fast!! But I just think its sooooooo cute when you see all these kids running around with big curly hair that is all over the place. So cute! :)

ETA: I was not allowed to wear makeup or get peircings or extensions until I was 16.  Which was fine with me! :)
