I did a search and did not come across any recommendations.  So here goes my first new topic post on BHM.

List your favorite brands for micro to small braids:

1.       Yaky Human Hair - high quality, and maybe high cost

2.       Yaky Human Hair - good quality, and reasonable or even cheap cost

3.       Other Favorite Textures of Human Hair

4.       Synthetic favorites

I am beginning to miss my braids after almost 9 months of wearing different sew ins. The last time I had my hair braided was before I found BHM - So with all the knowledge here I am sure I can step up my braids.   So help a sister out and post your favorites.

List recommendations that offer quality and longevity (2-3 months).

If you have tips to make the hair stay in a nice condition longer lists those as well.

Thank you ladies in advance, and thanks for welcoming me to the braids section. Wink

I used human hair the one time I did micro braids, but they got old fast for me. I like any synthethic hair brand that is 100% kanekalon. A type of braiding hair brand I thought was beautiful was batik outre deep wave. Xpressions (might be more difficult to find) is also a great brand of braiding hair.

Sorry I don't know too much about human hair.

I always use Chinese Virgin Remy for my braids. However, my vendor had this Chinese yaki and I figured I'd give it a go. It's wonderful. IT's not as wonderful as the remy but it's still a quality hair.

I like Yaky Pony mainly because it's soft and affordable. And it comes in many colors! I have yet to put human hair in my head too costly.

I never use micro braids, but here are some brands I have used. I like to keep things cheap.

For my curly looks, I use Freetress. A lot of people recommend Batik, but they never have it in the BSS I frequent. It only tangled one time on me, and I simply cut it shorter and I haven't experienced tangling since.

I've used Glance (its by Model Model I think), and I HATED IT! It was wavy hair. It tangled and was coming out. It was a nice style, but I was leaving a trail to Grandma's house.

My last time with box braids, I used some $2.00 hair. LOL! No name needed.

For my kinky twists I use Living Color Bulk and Freetress Bulk. I prefer to use Living Color, but I'm an overall Freetress girl! I believe Living Color has other braiding hair. I dunno how it hows up, but their "kinky" hair is just right for me.

Just wondering, which vendor are you buying from?

So as not to steal the thread... I haven't used human hair for braiding in a long time. I do like Batik though.
