So I have this hair that is pretty much jet black and my hair is more of a number 1b-2 . What do I need to use to lighten the hair a bit? Can I use hair dye or do I need to use bleach? I don't really color hair or anything so I don't want to mess it up lol

I'm not telling you to do this, but this is what I do. I'm a #4 but the last hair I received was a 1B/2. I simply dipped it in straight peroxide, laid it on the windowsill in the sun, let it dry and repeated the process 2-3 times until it was the right color.

I have Wags NC, "virgin", so it hasn't been processed already, just steam processed for curls.

Again, this works for ME. If you try this method, please strand test 1st.

I was afraid that hair dye would loosen my curls. Plus, I'm lazy and cheap and couldn't imagine dyeing bundles of hair. It's a pain in the arse to have to dye my own edges every month to cover this gray. lol

30 or 40 volume is best. Make sure you have a heat source so that it can lift properly.

I'll try to get 40 vol. Can I use a blowdryer? Also, if it ends up too light can I dye it darker?

Here's a photo of the color difference with my hair (flash) and the extensions

You can get a blow dryer but your arm may get tired and dont put it on to high and dont hold it to close, you may end up cookin that hair lol. You should be fine. I used a heater for my extensions so they could lift. Ratchet I know, but you gotta do what you gotta do lol. Good luck girl!

Thanks ^ It actually worked but for one bundle, the shortest of course, it didn't lift at all! In fact, the hair looks red!!! What should I do with that?

Oh, the hair is from yummy Extensions
