Life Cycles of Inequity: A Series on Black Men

Social psychologists Anthony Greenwald and Mahzarin Banaji have studied human cognition extensively and found that social behavior is driven by learned stereotypes that operate automatically- and threfore unconsciously - when we interact with other people. To learn about their daily experiences of living with and against stereotypes, we sat down to talk with  eight young men.

Good group and so much said is really true.
The experiences need to be shared.

In high a school a yt girl got her feelings hurt because my brother rejected her and dated a Black Girl. The yt girl tried to charge him with rape. He was arrested before her story was investigated. She didn't know the gym where she asked him to meet her, the same place she claimed he had raped her, had cameras.
My mother had to persuade the police to charge the girl for making a false police report.

Great discussion

Would love to see examples of action-based solutions to address the problems mentioned in the video.

This is really good and so much truth exposed. Just having a discussion with some friends wishing we went to an HBCU so we didn't have to deal with so much BS.

Similar thing happened to my cousin. He was accused of rape by a white girl in college because she found out he was cheating. She even made up a diary as evidence of when it happened. After his brother got him a lawyer, the girl later confessed to the police saying she was just angry at him for cheating. Charges were dropped, but he lost his scholarship and was kicked out of the college. Nothing happened to her. The experience inspired him to become a lawyer, which is what he is now.
