any oil can be made into a butter, you just need cetyl alcohol and stearic acid or anything to thicken it up and make it pliable.

Turning oil into butter - jojoba

Few weeks ago, I have been reading a post about how to turn oils into butters (or solid oil) by using a combination of co-emulsifiers. Well, how could I resist? As a first experiment, I turned some jojoba into butter, and I love the result! It works with all type of oils, you can vary the percentages of oil/co-emulsifiers to get a harder or softer butter.
Jojoba oil:
Protects from dehydration and slows water loss of skin cells
Nourishing = it penetrates deep into the skin without leaving a greasy film on the surface

Re-balancing = it regulates sebum
It has soothing and healing properties

Protective, softening and soothing, it is suitable for sensitive skin
Regenerating and anti-aging, it maintains the flexibility and elasticity of the skin (active metabolism of elastin)

INGREDIENTS (grams)
Jojoba oil - 60
Vit E - 1 drop

The procedure is very simple, just weight the ingredients and melt them together in water bath. Fill a container and wait until it cools down.

Exactly as jojoba oil, the solid version is also quite dry, leaving the skin very soft. It absorbs immediately, this making it the perfect after-shower body butter. Used pure (especially on wet skin) all vegetable butters are perfect anti-dehydration cosmetics. Thanks to this recipe I have now the chance to prepare large quantities of butters at very low cost, and as an alternative to more expensive shea (karité) and coco butters.
