I had a 4th degree laceration w/ my son. His shoulder got stuck so they sliced and diced. Took the an hr and 45 mins to sew my ish back together. "first we have to repair your vagina, then your anus, then the area between them. And you can not leave the hospital until you have a BM. We want to be sure that no feces will come out your vagina." I healed up pretty quick.I stopped lochia/bleeding in about 5 days. My daughter was a diff story. Minimal tearing at the original epi site, but the after pains were horrible. Likely because I breast fed. Felt like my uterus was free in my body, unattached, bumping into my other organs, bruising itself. I had lochia/bleeding for 3 weeks.
