The bolded is exactly it. That's the kind of black they
want. It's the kind of black they prefer. I never denied their blackness but because they are more mixed or diluted versions of black, they are deemed attractive.
There were times where black people were widely in showbiz and were closer to their original form by the masses, with mixed individuals also being in showbiz too. But these days, there is a huge disparity in that to the point where black actors and actresses, including Viola Davis, recognize the higher difficulty in being black and working in Hollywood.
The thing is, even though this is all media based, the media is indirectly ran by the people. The media dictates but the media also conforms for profit.

Ugly, right? Unfortunately, this attitude is more common than we think.
