Okay, so I'm late and confused but, my understanding is that Soledad is half "afro-cuban" and half white. I dont think "afro-cubans" consider themselves black at all, first and foremost. As a matter of fact, most of the cubans, puerto ricans, mexicans, dominicans and whatever elses I know would be at least slightly insulted if mistaken for a negro. So was there a point where Soledad suggested that she was in-fact a black person? Or did she do some kinda show regarding being black? Cus when I googled her, Being Latin in America came up. Or is this more about Kola Boof hating on light skinned folks? Please fill me in somebody.

my granddad was afrocuban. i assume he considered himself black.
i dont think soledad obrian considers herself black..more so latina which can include black. i posted a quote in the other thread about her
*another reason bhm mods should consolidate threads about the same damn thing on the same dan day*

What are afro latinos if not black? | Dark skinned Latin people..from what I understand, so her hair may be more "kinky" than a European's but they have "that good Peter Rican Hurrr" as my bestie would say. I propose this question to all: Whats being "black"? It seems like being white is a clear and easily defined status, but any and everybody can be a black person if they so choose or if the have any semblance of so called African features?

How did these dark skinned latin people get in latin america? Now how did blacks in north america get in america? You do realize we're the same right?
