This is a standard practice in healthcare.

Has been for years and years.

It's not fair but I feel this practice is unfortunately necessary.

I'm getting ready for work so can't elaborate at the moment but I'll be back to discuss.

right!

There's got to be a reason WHY he wasn't taking the meds and going to his appointments. If it was because of negligence on behalf of his family or maybe they just didn't have the resources to get him there, he shouldn't go without because of that

"History of noncompliance"???

Is the statement given by the hospital for not adding the boy to the list, the family made the accusation of poor grades and past legal issues.

If his family (he's a minor) and he haven't been taking proper care of his condition? What's the point of adding him to the list and possibly denying and heart to a person who is doing everything they can to survive??

If given a new heart, whose to say the "noncompliance" wouldn't continue thus wasting the heart??

If he is "not complying" that's his parents fault (child abuse). They need to remove him from the family until he can take care of himself instead of just letting him die.

...And what does his school grades have to do with anything?

With respect to the criminal history ........unless he is a killer, rapist or child molester who cares.....he's only 15.

If you won't even take your meds or go to the doctors appointment ...its sounds like he doesn't want to live.

i would also wonder if he would even survive after the transplant if he won't take meds or come back for check ups.

I'm reading an article on Clutch and they're saying they "believe he won't comply by taking his meds and going to doctor's appointments" .... assumptions

That's child abuse on his parents part.....it's the parents responsibility to make sure that a child gets proper medical care and not die.....

......the State needs to take over guardianship of this child.....
