I'm just saying, the concept that black men prefer a woman who is super curvy doesn't stop them from hitting on anyone with a pretty face.
i think people should stop looking at others to validate themselves

people are superficial with fleeting moods..

im not shading.. but way too many people place their worth on someone else's opinion
Right, you will never please everyone and should be more worried about pleasing yourself. The sooner you learn that the better in my op.

I personally don't find Rihanna's body as bad as ppl make it out to be.

Should that stop you from liking it? No

Oh I forgot. You can't have a differing opinion on bhm

please calm down no one said that

Although I agree with you, we live within a mainstream and ethnic culture where everyone is primed to pick you apart. As a black woman, you're overloaded from birth with people telling you:

1. either you're too dark to be pretty (oh you're pretty for a dark skinned girl) or being prized for something superficial like being "light"

2. damned if you do if: your hair is too short, you use extensions, you go natural

3. damned if you: date out, wait for the coveted perfect black man, stay single and claim that you're cool with it

4. if you're too curvy you become a fetish (at times) for other races & black men as well to be objectified and sexualized

5. if you're too small (by AA standards) you spend your childhood having most female relatives and peers telling you how you're too small and need to eat

6. By default bc you're a black woman you are supposedly the least desirable subset of women in the world (mostly this myth is promoted in the US)

So in short, women in general but especially AA women face a barrage of conflicting messages designed to tear you down. So, while of course you should totally be confident in yourself (which I said in one of my earlier posts) as opinions are fleeting, it is nice to get forms of outside validation from others.

It's not gonna be easy but, you have to love yourself and stop putting your worth in other people's hands!

I'm saying in general - that was not about me. Not that you know me, but my confidence is quite high, some would probably say I'm conceited but eff em, I have a very high opinion of myself as I feel that I'm worth the best and I put in the effort to get out the returns that I do in my life. But that doesn't mean that I DON'T notice if a guy checks me out.
