I think people are getting confused with virgin hair and human hair....and the "origins"

There is virgin hair available for purchase, even if it's on Aliexpress.  Virgin hair means the hair has NOT been processed whatsoever, and it can be bleached/dyed/curled/permed/etc.

Human hair (most commonly found in beauty supply stores) are most likely processed for color and it is harder to dye or bleach (sometimes it won't bleach or dye at all without matting & tangling on you).

People say it's not "virgin" hair because there aren't people in Brazil, Malaysia, and Peru cutting off their hair for donation.  While that may be true, the hair is still virgin because it was cut off someone's head whether the sellers on Aliexpress lied about the origin or not.  More & more people are catching on to sellers lying about origins, finding out that most hair are cut from Chinese heads and Indian heads, then being processed to mimic the textures of the origins they claim.

Whether it's from Brazil or not, aren't the hairs still virgin? (unless you process it yourself of course)

The hair isn't virgin if steam processed...majority if not all hair from aliexpress isn't virgin but remy. Body wave, loose wavy, natural wave, curly is all steam processed aka not virgin.

Isn't the hair technically virgin though? Chemically processed & being steamed for a pattern are two different things, right?

Nope the hair is no longer virgin because it was altered by high pressure stream to change the structure of the hair in terms of pattern. A lot of people believe steam processed hair is virgin since steam (water) is an organic material but steam can be damaging hence over processed or dry/rough hair.

Um, definitely not. Chinese hair is bone straight and Indian hair comes in mostly straight, wavy, and curly textures which completely differ from bundle to bundle so there isn't a whole lot of uniformity. Plus, why order from China for virgin anything other than Chinese hair which is bone straight.

Body wave, deep curly, deep wavy, kinky curly, all that is processed. If you have ever bought hair and the hair looked like this out the packaging, it's processed.

Obviously those textures are processed tf. I never bought the deep wave/kinky textures but I know they're processed. I'm speaking in terms of the hair itself. Since you can bleach and dye it unlike BSS hair.

It's a fallacy that Chinese hair is bone straight. There are lots with naturally wavy hair. Asians invented thermal straightening.

The simple fact that you can color/bleach the hair just means the hair hasn't been dyed.   Doesn't mean that the hair is virgin.

The definition of virgin has changed over the yrs. There was remy, virgin, virgin remy and raw. Remy hair was just processed hair but with the cuticles attached. Virgin meant that the hair was cut, fumigated, washed but the cuticles would be inverted or misaligned...ex. fallen hair. Virgin Remy, meant the hair was cut, fumigated, de nitted, washed but the hair was cuticle aligned and intact. Raw hair meant, the hair was cut and fumigated, maybe washed but the hair still needed some serious TLC since it usually looked dirty.

Honestly, if the hair holds up...labels shouldn't matter.

Anything with a completely uniform pattern is pretty much processed in some way shape or form

Just because you can bleach and dye the hair doesn't mean it's not processed, lol. If you think about how low the prices are on Aliexpress, and you know companies have to make an ROI what do you actually think you're buying?
