Yea I love the hair but she definitely has to better with that packaging.... I mean if she's worried about this winter BS then Nicole honey (I know you're reading) take some time and invest in some better packaging. All that time and money customers spend on your product you can at least ensure this "friction" doesn't happen.
Especially since you apparently knew that this winter friction existed... I mean why not take precautionary measures if you already know about winter friction...

Maybe the burlap bag was part of the Jacebeauty "Sustainability Initiative" by going " green"
Surely one would expect winter friction if bundles are shifting wrecklessly against burlap. Right???

Is there something that can be done about the static electricity? I have had other hair (non-Jace) do the same standing up thing. Both Indian and Chinese hair.

Yes the hair is gorgeous! That's definitely one thing for sure that she sells some pretty hair which is why I'm so surprised hair with "winter friction" escaped because that's not the quality of hair she's become known for. I think packaging is a part of what went wrong with the hair in the videos but I also think there are a lot of shorter hairs in those bundles causing it to act like that so maybe that's something they need to be careful about when wefting. Yeah she definitely is reading because about ten minutes after this thread was made I noticed she unpinned the video from the top of her Facebook page.

I don't know what's going on with Jace Beauty. I have purchased about 3
blends from the company and I have spoken to Nicole on several
occasion. All the hair that I have purchased have been of great
quality. I have the medium coarse straight, medium coarse wavy/curly
and the Very Coarse Straight. For special orders I have waited, the
longest being about 5 months. I honestly don't know what is going on
with Jace and I really wish she would be honest about the hair.
Besides, I'm not a science genius...I studied Biology, not Physics, but what she demonstrated here does not equal what's happening. Friction would cause the hair to stand straight up due to moisture loss to the dry hair (electrons are lost); the hair becomes positively charged. It wouldn't be matted and needing to be brushed through all recklessly.
My
last purchase fell victim to "winter static friction". When I took it out the
package, it wasn't matted but it looked like there were a lot of
flyaway hairs present. After I washed the hair, both bundles looked as
if they had been electrocuted. Now, I have a lot of hair hanging on
hangers awaiting to be installed on wigs or sewn in. None of my other
hair was sticking straight up from static friction, even though the air is dry in my home. I rewashed the hair
and used a heavier conditioner and the hairs laid down. This was back
in January and the hair is still hanging on it's hangers. I can see
some of the hairs rising back up into that electrocuted
position.....None of my other hair is going through this.
I sent
her an email after the first wash and complained about it. Besides
that, the hair is still beautiful and coarse, it wasn't a big issue. But
I'm sure there are other women that have experienced the same hence the
video.

So the hair is very static? Do you think it comes from the packaging like someone else suggested? |
I don't know what's going on with the hair. I don't think that the packaging is causing it alone. I think the hair was dry. I seen the greatest amount of static after I washed the hair and allowed it to air dry. If it were a packaging situation, it would have subsided after I washed and conditioned. In my case, I have the VCS which is known of being a little frizzy and need a little more moisture than the other textures. But in the video, those bundles were tangled. Maybe the silkier textures are tangling, I don't know, but it just doesn't seem like static would cause the hair to tangle. I just think she needs to be truthful about the hair. Here lately it seems as if she is creating an illusion of what she wants us to believe even though our eyes see differently. All of the "Russian" hair people have bought, her hair is the only hair going through it. If the hair is tangled once it gets to the customer, don't rationalize a scientific theory about what's going on. Just replace the bundles! She could start braiding the bundles to cut down on her "winter friction".

I doubt that it is from packaging..... The hair is likely suffering from chronic moisture loss aka "bad batch" I think this is the unknown that is very likely to happen when asking for very coarse hair. |
I agree with this! This was what I thought. After conditioning again, the static went away. But now I do see hairs sticking up. I chalked it up to it being a dryer texture and needing to be moisturized. Hair still beautiful tho

Either way I think she tries to do too much "damage control" which sometimes does not go in her favor. as opposed to addressing the situation on a one off basis she issued a video which now calls her business practices into question.
Overall I think Nicole is a smart business women, but I feel she tries to appease the crowd too much. Think about her videos... trip to "Russia", Shipping times, etc. all were a result of probably what she read about her company.
She brought more attention by posting a video, then necessary to this topic...
