I don't know what's going on with Jace Beauty.  I have purchased about 3 blends from the company and I have spoken to Nicole on several occasion.  All the hair that I have purchased have been of great quality.  I have the medium coarse straight, medium coarse wavy/curly and the Very Coarse Straight.  For special orders I have waited, the longest being about 5 months.  I honestly don't know what is going on with Jace and I really wish she would be honest about the hair.

Besides, I'm not a science genius...I studied Biology, not Physics, but what she demonstrated here does not equal what's happening.   Friction would cause the hair to stand straight up due to moisture loss to the dry hair (electrons are lost); the hair becomes positively charged. It wouldn't be matted and needing to be brushed through all recklessly.

My last purchase fell victim to "winter static friction".  When I took it out the package, it wasn't matted but it looked like there were a lot of flyaway hairs present.  After I washed the hair, both bundles looked as if they had been electrocuted.  Now, I have a lot of hair hanging on hangers awaiting to be installed on wigs or sewn in.  None of my other hair was sticking straight up from static friction, even though the air is dry in my home.  I rewashed the hair and used a heavier conditioner and the hairs laid down.  This was back in January and the hair is still hanging on it's hangers.  I can see some of the hairs rising back up into that electrocuted position.....None of my other hair is going through this.

I sent her an email after the first wash and complained about it.  Besides that, the hair is still beautiful and coarse, it wasn't a big issue. But I'm sure there are other women that have experienced the same hence the video.

So the hair is very static? Do you think it comes from the packaging like someone else suggested?

I doubt that it is from packaging..... The hair is likely suffering from chronic moisture loss aka "bad batch" Ouch I think this is the unknown that is very likely to happen when asking for very coarse hair.

Hmmm I'm not sure about that.... I have in some indian wavy/curly hair that I had wefted. The hair came to me in cold A$$ NJ from india and I sent it off to be wefted and here I am wearing it for the past 2 months. Not one bit of tangle/matting.

Now I can't say whether or not it's the hair itself BUT I do think it's the packaging. If my natural hair was balled up in a burlap sack for 1-3 days i'm sure it would like that too.

All that money for hair I would invest in better packaging so thta my customers are at least visually pleased upon arrival.

It's not really burlap packaging is it? Confused
