So I'm going to BC again, and try ayurvedic powders and oils.
Every year around this time I go almost bald in my crown, it's not my thyroid, I'm not anemic or low in any vitamins or minerals.

The spot itches constantly and that part of my scalp is tender (only this time of year)

Just touching my hair causes breakage.

This is my hand after applying my deep conditioner

This will be my last time trying to grow it out. If it does this again next year I will just keep it cut, and wear wigs or weaves. I keep saying that, but then I try again. LMAO

Nike, if you read this, yes I've went to that place you told me about. It didn't help.

Why do you have to BC?

Will BC stop the breakage ?

Sorry to hear that this continues to occur.

I know that you mentioned that you are not anemic or low in any vitamins or minerals.  Have you had your doctor run tests to see if  there is an underlying condition linked that may be causing the hair loss?  As well, if you haven't already check with your doctor or a dermatologist to check your scalp for psioriasis or eczema on the scalp.... it may be something so simple that is causing this to occur and as you stated that it happens at the same time every year there is definitely something that is triggering this to happen.

You might need to see a dermatologist Cincy :(

I don't know if BCing is going to help the problem, especially not if it's something internal

I don't know if this is possible, but when my kids were younger and they had  ringworm the doctor told us that when they started to lose hair that the fungus was in the blood stream. They were then prescribed an oral medication to take. Is there any way that you were exposed and didn't know it and this is making you lose your hair.

The itching, tenderness, and hair loss suggest a skin condition or maybe some type of infection or fungus. The dermatologist could help.

Also, if you are trying things, try a tee tree shampoo or add tea tree oil to your shampoo.

OP, are you taking any supplementation at all?

this sounds like my "setbacks" that i had almost every year, then it became more frequent to the point of happening ever six months.

Topical solutions did not help me at all. (Hold on, there was one - Bee Mine sulfur serum worked very well).

Every time i thought i was on the right track, i'd have a setback.  Using a supplement with DHT blockers has been a tremendous help.

I now have a head of hair after over 7 years of trial and error, AND hundreds of products.  Talia started a nioxin thread.  She wasn't truly aware of the DHT blockers, all she knew was that her hair was thriving from it. And from her examples it certainly was.

When i did my research, and experimentation, yes, Nioxin works.  When they hiked up the price on it? i learned to use ANY vitamin supplement that has natural DHT blockers.

Do a BHM search on the Nioxin thread.  The stuff works, but there are cheaper alternatives out.  Waaaaay cheaper.

another product that helped me get back on my hair journey?

Megatek.  i mix it with cayenne pepper, rosemary  and peppermint oil, and any moisturizer.

It's also strange that your shedding phenomena happens, "this time of year"?  During the cold months?  i'm in NM, and winters here range from mild to pretty harsh.  That's when i use the baggy method and yes, wigs.

Take what you need and leave the rest, OP and good luck.:)

when i saw your hand in the photograph - i knew exactly what you're going through.. It's happened to me so many times, i can't count..

it's disheartening, discouraging, but it's also good to know you're not the only one this happens to.

My whole crown, sides and near the back always fell out.. It always started at the crown FIRST, then work its way to the back - and there i was DAMN NEAR BALD - ALL OVER AGAIN..Confused
