So, I started noticing for a while that when i wash my hair a week later my scalp itches so badly. I got braids a week ago and now its itching so badly to the point where i want to rip out my hair. I recently just went natural and i have noticed that my hair is sooo damn dry like i don't know what to do with it. Can anybody recommend me a shampoo i can use for itchy scalp. Can i use head and shoulders or selsun blue for natural hair or no? Help pleasee

Keracare dry & itchy works pretty well. I'm currently having the same issue and I just purchased some prducts containing tea tree oil. I got Parnevu T-Tree braid spray and tea tree oil which I'll put in my shampoo and conditioners.

Hmmm are you sure it is not a new shampoo or conditioner that you are reacting to?  Or has this occured when you got your extensions put in?  I would look into a clarifying shampoo or do a hot oil treatment before you shampoo when you take out your braids.  Are you oiling your scalp?  Maybe that will help.

Try liquid black soap I had a reaction to a shampoo, I think I can't use anything with Rosemary oil. The black soap made my scalp feel 1000% better.

Maybe you're allergic to your washing agent? Is it making your hair extra dry? Or maybe your hair itching is a sign that you are beginning to get build up. Maybe you shouldn't wait a whole week to clarify your hair. Clarifying won't strip the hair as long as you're using something without sulfates and drying alcohols.

This. I once had a horrible allergic reaction, so if it started with the braids, you might want to consider that.

Otherwise, three words: Apple Cider Vinegar. Used to have scalp issues and tried every medicated shampoo under the sun, including prescription.
1 part ACV and 2 parts water as a final rinse on shampoo day once a week fixed everything. It's been a miracle cure for me.
