This really works, apply some ACV to your scalp and leave on for thirty mins.  It will dissolve and lift all the flakes and build up.  Your hair will be softer too.

Also think you may want to check you don't have any kind of fungal infection there cos that will definitely cause itching and breakage. You could get someone to have a look at your scalp and see if they can see scaly/red patches. If so go see your dr cos it can spread if you don't do anthing about it.

Who checked your scalp? Your stylist or your dermatologist?

Sorry to say, but even though many stylists have years of training, they are not healthcare providers. It's possible you have seborheic (sp?) dermatitis so I would get it checked. If high quality moisturizers (not containing mineral oil and all of that stuff) make it worse, you have more than a dry scalp. I have a similar condition.

I hope this gets resolved b/c I know it is frustrating.

I remember when I was transistioning, I used a blend of rosemary (avoid if preggers, epiletic, or have HBP), tea tree oil, and some carrier oil (olive oil, castor oil, etc) and did a pre shampoo treatment.   I did this for a month and finally the itchiness went away.

I THINK U MAY BE WASHING YOUR HAIR TOO OFTEN. ALSO, U SAY THAT U ARE GREASING YOUR SCALP...DOES YOUR GREASE HAVE MINERAL OIL OR PETROLEUM? IF SO, THIS IS CLOGGING YOUR SCALP AND PREVENTING MOISTURE FROM THE AIR TO GET TO YOUR SCALP...

IF U'RE GONNA WASH AS FREQUENT AS U DO, MAKE SURE U ARE DEEP CONDITIONING AND NOT COMBING WHEN HAIR IS WET...FURTHMORE, BE SURE TO SEAL YOUR HAIR WITH SOME OIL....

TRY USING A TINGLING SHAMPOO SO THAT IT CAN STIMULATE YOUR SCALP AND BE CAREFUL NOT TOO USE A LOT OF PRODUCTS...BUILD UP IS A HUGE MESS...HOPE THIS HELPS!
