I can deal with hateful females but I don't know how to handle it when she's my mother Confused My Mother seems to be jealous of most young women, including my daughter.
Many times, I try to forgive and forget however there is no end to it. My Mother lies on me, talks behind my back, starts trouble with my kids and when I distance myself, she seems so hurt.
I'm an only child and I don't want to cut her out of my life, it's just getting old.
Anyone else dealing with this????

You may be strong enough to deal with your mother's crap, but do not allow her to do the same to your children. Protect them from her, even if it means hurting her feelings.

Yikes! I do not know what I would do in that situation.  My mother has never acted that way. G'Luck OP.

My daughter has chosen not to have a relationship with her grandmother and it's for the best. My mother alienates herself from family members (not intentional) because she's so messy so I'm all she has.

Cut her off. Been there, done that (grandmother). It is OK to be cordial, but why mix yourself up emotionally with her? If your daughter has kept it moving, don't you think you should too? It will be tough at first, but the stress you WON'T have to deal with will make it worth while.

i find that so weird that a MOTHER would be jealous of her own child. THe child that came out of you. But there is a girl i went to high school with who thought her mother was jealous of her and her sisters. So weird to me.

My mother does this and it is so weird. She never had anything nice to say and will literally start fights purely for the sake of it.

I love my mother, I honestly do. But she's like a high school mean girl and it is so draining. Thankfully, she is calming down and I truly appreciate that.
