Yes it is because of this stupid 2-party system we have. Bill Clinton's 1992 win was in part due to Ross Perot splitting the Republican vote...Ralph Nader siphoning votes from Al Gore in 2000 etc.

But you have the right to do that, like those people who choose to write in Donald Duck, Mickey Mouse their favorite football players etc LOL

third party candidate aren't taken too seriously because usually all they do is take away a small portion of votes from the Democrat or Republican candidates. I wish they were more influential but thats up to the voters and not enough people stray far away from what they are have grown to know as the only way

voting for someone you don't believe in = throwing your vote away

democrats and republicans control the media, the ballots, and the televised debates for their own benefits in running the country.....and media will dissuade people from voting 3rd party because it will siphon votes away from the 2 major parties and call it 'a wasted vote'....then parrots echo that sentiment lol

for those who think its a wasted vote, do you also feel that voting for the lesser of two evils is a perfectly valid voting strategy?

tatee and inSickCure I see what y'all saying and I did think about that but if you know the vote is not going anywhere then it still is pretty much a waste and it's better to have some progress rather than none.

i don't think it's throwing your vote away because it's healthy for us to have other options...if you felt like you HAD to vote for one or the other extreme then that's not even democracy, it's just giving your vote away.  maybe not nationally, but locally when those off brand people show up sometimes they can make the bigger guys work harder to get that majority.
