is urban fashion/branding dead and are we living in an age where clothing that was synonymous with young black expressionism an extinct being, substituted by black youth for high end unaffordable "designer" clothing?

(ironically, 80% of current high end fashion street wear for the past two years has been a direct knock off black street style from 89-96)

is this a positive move thing? i.e no more phatfarm, pelle pelle, marc ecko etc etc?

will this result in an increase in high end black fashion labels?

or is this just another phase in the strategic exploitation of blackonomy?

is this a negative effect of "tanning'?

Well when you have Jay Z singing about Tom Ford what do you really expect? The followers tend to do what they do and follow...

It was plenty of ninjas trying to buy Moet in the club with shut off notices, just like now its plenty of fools googling Tom Ford and anything else mentioned in songs and on TV to "fit In".

Macys still carries Rocawear and Sean John but the section is always looking unloved, and clearanced out. Ji aint even trying to still rock his brand, he on some other extra shyt. Lord and those Sean John suits are super tight with skinny slacks, I can't. The higher end things I see of his in magazines I never see in the stores.

It's sad TBH, Our entire culture is sold out.. There used to be a time when mainstream designers wouldn't design the things we wanted to wear.. Now, smh... Only hood people wear urban brands.. It's become a faux pas to be caught in anything with an urban label...
