Since we don't have a mental health section I guess I'll post this here.: I'm watching TV (law and order SVU) and talking to my grandfather. And the little girls parents were arrested. I turned to my grandfather and said 'I remember when my mother was arrested. Yall told me she went away and then we went to disney world. That was our last vacation". My granddad looks at me and says "no. We went to williamsburg with the family a couple years back". I honestly have no recollection of such events. Like I believe that we went. I just can't visualize ish. This isn't the first time this has happened to me. I can barely remember most of my past minus a few traumatic events. I think the only reason I remember them is because I forced myself to never forget. Does anyone else have issues remembering the past? I honestly can't tell u half the ish that happened to me this year. Only within the last couple of months. My friend who is majoring in psychology says its because I disassociate. Its sorta scary because I'm only 19(barely). Maybe I need to eat more veggies

Girl, I can't remember what I did for my birthday last year when someone asked me.
I don't think you have a problem, but when did yall go williamsburg? Maybe if you were really young, you may have just forgot.

Other things I barely remember: -My HS graduation last year -Apparently 99% of the things my BFF and I did over the past years -most of my school days -majority of the holidays with my family Things I do remember: -group home -homelessness Like. I strain my brain to remember these things. Like why can't I remember. It doesn't help that there's a HUGE gap of the pics that we as a family took. Most of these pics I have stop at my kindergarten graduation. Then BAM ! Jumps to HS graduation. I'm convinced I'm a robot

yep I do as well. It's like the last couple of years have just been a blur except for significant things... and the past as well. but you also have to ask your self have you really sat down and actually tried to remember and focus on the past?
I blamed it on my being anemic and vegetarian, but I researched and this could be contributed to many things. it could be you're just not remember every little miniscule details only the significant ones or , possible dissociation, derealization, depersonalization, vitamin deficiencies, brain fog, ms, ....

there are people and names and events from grade school that I completely forget
yet there are some people, names and events that Ive never forgotten and actually think about relatively often
very interesting ....

It could be a lot of things, not necessarily a mental health issue.
For instance, it could be a brain tumor. Not saying this to scare you
