i think vol 2 is overrated tbh and vol was a much better album imho

he *&%^$#@Eed up with american gangsta because it was just too close to the movie american gangsta in theme and in release time

the interpolations from the movie didnt help him neither

also for the concept, it lacked the cinematographic appeal that kendrick has, or even that the diary of kirk jones or a prince among thieves had

it wasnt as cohesive and was a loose and disjointed presentation

you could bump it, but you couldnt zone out nahmean

all imo of course

You ain't the only one. His multisyllabic flow and internal rhyme scheme was so on point.

I'm a block away from hell, not enough shots away from stray shells
An ounce away from a triple beam still using a hand-held weight scale
Your laughing, you know the place well

And Government, phuck Government, Brothas politic themselves
Where we call the cops the A-Team

And life expectancy so low we making our wills at eight-teen
Where how you get rid of guys who step out of line, your rep solidifies
So tell me when I rap, you think I give a phuck who criticize?

so hard.

lol come on now...there aren't many albums you can just let play all the way thru, well at least for me, that is.  there are definately a few of the songs i can actually see myself putting in my listening rotation.  it's not a stellar album, no.  but i like artists to experiment with sounds...so...

but on the real, his experimental sound is starting to give me a james blake-ish vibe but more up tempo...

you gotta listen to this thru something in which the bass is on point...

and i love how ye stans trying to justify him processing and growing.. and other hiphop artists stay in their comfort zone, and how you should listen to more types of music

isnt the whole point of hiphop music, is to be hiphop??
