A girl in my class diagnose herself as having ADHD. I'm like you have to go to a doctor or psychiatrist to say you have ADHD.

I don't know how it became cool.  In my "officially diagnosed" life it is a CURSE.  Taking meds everyday with side effects is a curse.  The outcome of what undiagnosed mental illness life can create or destroy is a curse.  In my case it destroyed my life so it's a curse.  So no I don't think its cool to be bipolar, but I have seen this trend that it's supposed to be.  I think real bipolar ppl taking meds to try to live as normal of a life as possible would completely disagree.

In my case because its genetic, we literally call it the family's curse and it is the reason why I'll never have children, because I don't plan on cursing anyone else personally.

Mental illness can be diagnosed by yourself as long as you are honest and aware of what's happening to yourself.
