The case would stay in that State's Small Claims Court and be decided by a local judge. Going should benefit both parties, since they both get a free trip, and everyone gets paid for their appearance. If she is worried about the negative image though, that is another story. I've seen people be classy not ratchet on Judge Mathis' show though.

I wasn't even aware that I was being sued until I received the letter. The letter was addressed to me and the titleholder of the car I was driving so I just figured that must be why.

Find out what you owe and if it was your fault, try to settle and pay. You don't want that hanging over your head.
i wouldn't want to be on there (no matter the case)...but like you said if you are an aspiring model this may be your come up. 
but before you say that on judge mathis, do you "look" the part?
