I'm an entrepreneur/businesswoman and have been rocking 99j for a few years (see color below). I'm an African American woman with medium brown skin and red undertones so the color looks amazing, best one yet (and I've had a few). I consider myself to be professional and very serious about entrepreneurship but at the same time I'm creative and a tad eccentric. Do you think this color is "appropriate" for business? I'm a bit of a rebel so my appropriateness radar might be way off. I want to be a great representation for black women and young girls so if that involves changing my hair color then so be it.

What buisness do you work in? Some fields, such as fashion/art/entertainment, you can get away with more hairstyles than say if you worked in real estate/insurance/politics. I had to look up what you meant by "99j" since the link didn't work.

Good point, might work better for the fashion & arts industry. I work in a technology career focused on sports. I really love the color but might go a tad bit darker.

Dude, don't. You're fine. I honestly think you're over thinking this.

When deciding if your hair color on ethnic hair is "appropriate"; unfortunately, many of those who are not in the entertainment or cosmetic industry would rather an ethnic woman wear "natural" hair colors for their background. A lot of people find it unprofessional to have daring or slightly bold colors. It all depends on what type of environment and people you are working in. If you are in the cooperate world this color is not usually accepted, but it is very pretty I might add!

I for one have unnatural blonde hair, which I once had to dye black before a job would accept me. ( I have left that job since then x_x)
