yeah, like Afro said too many facets But with C/MLK , I saw her as almost as big a part of the movement as MLK was (as much as a woman could have been back then). She was very involved and out there making changes herself. A divorce probably would have been like ending her life work along with his. She often spoke about how she was involved with the movement when she met Martin. So this was her 'power' too. I could definitely understand why she stayed married to him for the greater good. That was a different time too. eta: and like so many other things that happened back then, I don't know if I could have endured it but in that same situation during that time, I hope I could. In name only...

I find that sad given men love complaining about women who won't stick through it all. You we're his ride or die only to end up getting betrayed. That ain't fair.

is that how he explains his cheating?  i would take whatever he said in his book w/ a grain of salt...how many marriages has he had again?

I think you should evaluate staying or leaving the same way you would if it was Tyrone down the street. In a marriage your spouse should be "normal" and "common" to you, because y'all should have that type of bond. So I believe if you stay because of status, then that means you got up in the hype just as well as your spouse may have.
No, I do not think someone's personal faults diminishes their greater cause. We all have some demons we try to move beyond.
