that's a good idea, bonjour! shoo plug in your earphones, blast your favorite music and spend a day dancing around the kitchen while you cook up enough food to last for a few weeks.

might have to try that myself.

Ole wheat tortillas
Pack of chicken breast
Shredded sharp cheese
Head of lettuce
Dozen eggs
Salsa
If you eat beef a four pack of steaks($5) the small ones
Can tuna
Salad dressing (store brand)

You can have a tortilla of your choice everyday and when you tire of that eat a salad

ITA about the beans/legumes/and lentils. very healthy...

I use different spices such as curry to mix it up with the above noted.

with frozen peas... I can make a mean soup .

I do not know your location however in Cali we have a fresh and easy store. I enjoy buying their marked down veggies to freeze them for pizza, soups and my DIY pet food

Nice thread

I always recommend checking out reddit because there are a bunch of threads on this subject. reddit.com/r/frugal or reddit.com/r/eatcheapandhealthy.

Check out churches and food banks in your area to get some free food, you'd be surprised what you get. Make friends with the people who work in dining services at your school and find out when they're going to get rid of food so you can get it before it hits the trash.

If you know anyone with a costco membership roll with them and get some basics. It's much cheaper there. Rice, beans, frozen veggies with meat as a seasoning will get you super far. Also make friends with the produce manager at your local grocery store and find out when they put the fresh produce for sale.

The hardest part about eating on no money is the monotony. Most people can't fathom eating the same meal 3x a day. But honestly, as long as you're not starving you just have to force yourself to be happy with it. It's cheaper to eat the same few meals than to try to make all sorts of different stuff.

Oh and check out the blog Budget Bytes. She has tons of recipes for super cheap and she breaks it all down by price.

You like sweet potatoes?? Well they are good carbs and fairly cheap around 59 cents per pound a large one can be two meals, big bags of frozen veggies, you can get about 20 servings for around $6. Tilapia is pretty cheap too less than $1 per pound. If you eat eggs everyday you can get a good deal on the 2.5 doz.. Beans are a good source of fiber, dirt cheap. You could make pots of veggie or turkey chili. For less than $1 per serving.
