I am thinking of trying vatika oil and put some henna in my conditioners. not to only treat my hair. but see what it does to the indian virgin hair....after work today, ill be going to a indian grocery store (cookingirl told me about-good looking out) to get my vatika oil and henna!!

has nayone tried indian hair products on their indian hair? pros cons? details? suggestions? and TIA! Smile

I've never used any, but have made some observations:
 
a lot of the older generation of Indians here in the UK use hair oils.. but IMO it makes the hair look very stringy/greasy- so I would avoid them... maybe only use them sparingly on the ends...
 
The younger generation pretty much use products aimed at european hair which are aimed to minimise build up and grease and keep everything light and bouncy

I use virgin coconut oil before I shampoo and I put some in my conditioner...just this weekend I used coconut milk to wash my hair before my conditioning regimen and the hair was pretty...but no prettier than when I do what I have been anyway...but that's all I have used

I'm afraid if I break out some coconut milk, I'm going to have to buy some rum and vanilla ice cream and make a big ole pitcher of Pena Colada's.........Haven't had one in  years.............delicious!!!!Tongue

I caught an Indian lady at Wal Mart african american hair care section checking out hair care products. I want to say she was looking at the oils.  A lil off topic but I thought it was interesting to see
