Hello ladies!!!

This post is about birth control and a few in depth details are given:

There is a birth control that last for 3 years.  It is called Implanon and is inserted in your arm. I want to first start off by saying i have been on 3 different birth controls aside from this one and none of them worked for me. I did so much research but nothing was clear and i trusted the reviews for 3 products so i was very reluctant to try implanon. Implanon is actually for women who do not want an estrogen based birth control. Here is the link.

Anyways, its a progestrin only bc and it worked for me because i had been on estrogen based bc. First i was on aviane (i bled for weeks and i mean weeeeeeeks straight), then i tried lo estrin 24Fe( i still bled for weeks and i felt nausea every hour of the day, in the middle of the night... it was awful and i was on it for 5 months so my body should have gotten used to it but no. even worst, i developed terrible migranes...), then i tried the ortho tricyclen generic tri-sprintec.....(i had the worst cramps and bloat and again bled for weeks.)....... then i was going to try the IUD either the copper or the mirena and then I saw the procedure...... no way!(atleast not until a last resort) so then i stumbled apon implanon and I was so skeptical but i figured a small insition in my arm is better than getting an IUD inserted and it was absent of estrogen so I figured maybe my body would respond to it a little better. I was right.

Now they said you wouldnt have a period at all after 3 months and ive been on it since may. that is not the case for me just yet..... my period is super light. literally 1 panty liner a day, and most of the time its not even a lot. Its a light pink discharge. anyways.... it last for a few days and thats it. no cramp, very little bloat if any, paid for by most insurance, and again it last up to 3 years.

So I am satisfied with it and it might be a great thing to try if other birth controls have been rejected by your body. (by rejection i meanyour body did not syncronize with the medication). I wish I wouldve tried it before the other ones..

Try it! Hope this helps!!!

I have been considering getting the implanon, but my doctor doesn't administer it and I don't know who does.

No waaay would i go for it. After doing some research its worse than depo. If youve had negative side effects from depo shots like, mood swings, depression, extreme decline in sex drive etc then this is nothing more than depo on steroids. Dont do it. Just google the horror stories. Not worth it.

Yeah, I use to be on Depo and it took me through some sh*t. Never again! I just opted for the Ortho evra patch. I discussed the side effects with my doctor and he told me as long as I don't smoke I am ok to be on this type of birth control. If you smoke, it can cause blood clots.

I was going to get Mirena too, but now they got a commercial asking people to contact a lawyer if they have used Mirena so they can sue the company who makes it or the doctors. I forgot, but that was enough to let me know I need to pass on the Mirena.

OMG, I wanted the Implanon before I chose Mirena but the insertion and removal look horrible! I'd freak out because I hate needles!

Mirena insertion wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, the only thing painful was the cramps right after. But I popped pain pills and was done. I'm dreading the removal though....

whaaaa??Shocked I'll have to look that up! I just got it 2 months agoOuch

ETA: I looked up the lawsuits for a few methods of BC. Honestly, they're all risky. 6% of Mirena users complained of the devise breaking through the uterine wall and abdominal cavity, resulting in emergency surgical removal.

50% of Implanon patients between ages of 20-29 reported device migration within the first 6 months of insertion. You have a 40% increased chance of blood clots...but thats similar in all of the BC side effects. They changed the name to Nexplanon because of the major lawsuits against Implanon because of a long list of complications.

BC is just scary in general after reading all this crapDead
