The Summer of 2006 My cousin did a sew in for me. I bought Dream Weaver hair. My hair started itching a few days afterwards but I figured I had dandruff. Then it became an an itch/pain combo. Finally My face broke out and my cheeks were swolen so I took the hair out. My cousin said it was just a bad bag of hair. I've tried different brands on and off but it's the same reaction. I wash the hair before I get it done that hasn't worked either. People laugh when I say I'm allergic to human hair. I don't really care for synthetic for a sew in and the stylists around here don't know much about Futura(the synthetic hair that can be curled low temp.). I haven't tried remy cuz I don't want to buy any remy cuz I'm afraid of the same result Cry I think I should try some type of Virgin Hair. I get kinda sad cuz I love colors and I admire 27 pieces but my scalp can't take it. Am I the ONLY one with this problem?????

No you are not the only one with this problem. My daughter also breaks out when she wears certain, beauty supply, human hair. I think that it is something they use to treat the hair and not the hair itself. I say this because she has worn lace wigs from CV's and has not had this problem.

Did you wash it before you installed it?

All hair especially BSS should be washed to get the residue from the chemicals used to wash it and the hair dye.

The hair that you had might not have been 100% human, if there are fibers mixed with the hair that could've caused the reaction as well.

I'm glad because I felt like an Alien or something lol. I want to find a way to remove the treatment chemical like some type of shampoo. But I think the Best thing to do is order hair that is Virgin online.
