Well if they're making fun of the child because the clothes are dirty, torn, to small etc then yes. There is no excuse for that type of follishness when goodwill has clothes for 2.50. Now if they talking bout them because the child isn't wearing name brands then no I don't think you should buy that out of peer pressure. Buy it because you can afford it and you like it.

I also would consider the ages of the kids bullying and also my own kids maturity and self esteem levels. 

Teens are more able to with stand peer pressure then really small kids (elem school).  Middle school ages I'd imagine are more apt to be swayed by peer pressure so yeah I might if it really makes a difference to my child's self esteem.
