I remember reading an article in an undergrad womens study class about women and poverty....
It read something like having kids was a major link between women and poverty...
This included both unwed and wed mothers...

Hmmm wish I could find that article..... **** oh baby is waking up brb***

BHM likes me? That's news to me as many times as I've been called all kinds of b*tches and crazy and dumb.

Anyway, just because you don't see something happening around you or with people you know doesn't mean it doesn't happen in the real world. The world is vast with billions of people in it living all types of lives.

I can see a lot of depressed women at home with 2.5 kids swallowing Valium and their overworked alcoholic husband coming home to beat them and the kids cause of the stress of bills and the noisiness after a long day of work.

This thread has postpartum depression written all over it... women are shamed into thinking motherhood can only look one way....

There are lots of people who are able to completely support their families in a lifestyle they enjoy on  what would be considered a low income. Some people just like a simple, inexpensive life. Some people do not enjoy working a lot and would rather have free time to do what they want so they design their life around that.

People value different things.

they do

like being able to make sure their kids don't enter adulthood with debt and/or leaving money behind for their kids is a priority some have while others don't

You don't have to. Tis a known fact ma'am.Ouch

Now that I look back, my SAHM sent me to preschool at 4 instead of teaching solely by herself. At home taking care of the house, running errands, prolly having some lunch dates with my dad while I suffered. She failed me!

Don't think I would send my kid to daycare, I would prefer a nanny. I really don't want kids at all though lol
